A New Roof for Itala Foundation Community School

A new roof for Itala Foundation Community School’s new 3 x 1 Classroom (three classrooms in one block)

The new roof sponsored by Cameron’s Orphanage, a big thank you to Crescent House’s fundraising efforts, has been completed on the new classroom block.

The roof which has been constructed by John Silungwe, our local builder, who is a former pupil of Itala Foundation Community School, is now complete.  The Itala Foundation Community School was originally built by the charity, Cameron’s Orphanage Project, it started in 2007 with a handful of students and now there are over 1600!

Now that the roof is complete, the Parent Community School Committee (PCSC) will be able to finish the classrooms. The PCSC have raised funds in Zambia through the tuck shop, a fundraising dinner and various other activities. We are very proud of their hard work.

We currently have eleven children in Cameron’s orphanage, five girls; Sarah, Maureen, Christina, Nema and Angela, and six boys; Cared, Terance, Joseph, Mischek, Monday, and Kelvin all between the ages of 9 and 14.
