Welcome to Cameron’s Orphanage
Cameron’s Orphanage began as a project in September 2016 started by his mother, Amanda Jayne, as a legacy to her son Cameron after a tragic accident that took his life at the age of just 21.
With the help of his friends, colleagues, and acquaintances, his legacy has built an orphanage and a nursery school and developed a primary school, called Itala Foundation, just outside the small town of Mkushi in Zambia. In this rural community thousands of people live in severe poverty and hundreds of orphans and vulnerable children are in need of help.
Cameron’s Orphanage is officially registered and complies with Zambian regulations and standards of child care. We work closely with the local Social Welfare Department to bring happiness and hope of a fulfilled future, to some of the world’s most desperate children.

Sponsor a child
We currently have eleven children in Cameron’s orphanage, five girls; Sarah, Maureen, Christina, Nema and Angela, and six boys; Cared, Terance, Joseph, Mischek, Monday, and Kelvin all between the ages of 9 and 14.
Our Mission & Vision
To provide a safe, caring and loving environment for orphaned or abandoned children.
To ensure they receive quality education and healthcare, and develop skills in order for them to become responsible, charitable, well-balanced and employable adults.
Breaking the Poverty Cycle
When we think of poverty, images of malnourished and sick children usually come to mind; but the root causes of poverty are hidden combination of re-enforcing dynamics that, unless tackled, becomes more problematic for the generations to follow.
Children living in poverty have little to eat, poor living conditions and limited, or no, health care.
Without education or skills, the prospects of improving their lives is unlikely. Even with good education, unless there are better paid work opportunities for them they will be resigned to low wage employment.
Low income, of course, means poor living conditions, health problems and malnutrition.
It’s a vicious cycle of poverty creating poverty.
About Cameron
Cam loved flying and was shamelessly happy and positive. Above all, he was a loyal and loving friend with a huge heart, a sense of mischief and a zest for life.
Cam took every opportunity in life and aimed for excellence, in his education, his music, his sporting activities and budding flying career.
Want To Help Us? There are many ways to do it!
“Like slavery and apartheid, poverty is not natural. It is man-made and it can be overcome and eradicated by the actions of human beings.”
